Sailors - Sailors grab another point
Although they carried a good part of the play in front of a good crowd on Saturday night at the MRC, the Sailors had to settle for a single point in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Kincardine Bulldogs.
Shawn Moore opened the scoring for the Sailors less than five minutes in on a nifty breakaway. The Bulldogs answered back on the powerplay less than 3 minutes later. Curtis Taylor put the Sailors ahead again in the second, but much like the first period, a Bulldog powerplay goal evened the score. The teams traded chances in the third but both goaltenders stood their ground.
Ovetime solved nothing, and it took an extended shootout to beat either goalie. The Bullsogs scored on their fifth attempt, and the Sailors didn't manage a shootout goal.
Jaden Shrier made 37 saves in the loss. Sean Halley, Tristan Rae, Tom Bedour and Eli Adair picked up assists for the Sailors. Sam Feagan looked strong in his first action since the end of September. His return was noticed at both ends for the Sailors.
